Okavango Experience
The Experience
Overland safari through Southern Africa spans from rhino tracking at the Khama Rhino Sanctuary and exploring the waterways of the Okavango Delta to observing elephant herds in Chobe National Park and visiting Victoria Falls. Operating during the dry winter months from June to October, the journey provides optimal wildlife viewing as animals congregate near diminishing waterholes.
Your Itinerary
Day 1Maun to Moremi Game ReserveYou will board an open-sided 4x4 vehicle and leave civilization behind as you drive deep into the wilderness. The terrain quickly shifts into the protected boundaries of Moremi, where the delta meets the dry savannah landscape. Your afternoon drive targets the dense mopane forests and floodplains to look for leopards and wild dogs. As twilight falls, you arrive at your first wild campsite to enjoy a dinner cooked over open flames.
Day 2Moremi to Khwai ConcessionToday you pack up camp and enjoy a slow game drive transferring into the community-run Khwai area. Khwai features no fencing, allowing wildlife to roam completely free between the national park and local lands. Because this is a private concession, your guide can take you out after dark using high-powered spotlights. This exclusive night drive gives you a rare look at nocturnal creatures like genets and hunting owls.
